About the Department
- The Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering was established in the year 2011 with faculty members specialized in the areas of CAD/CAM, Robotics, and Computer vision.
- Mechanical and Automation Engineering is a new branch of engineering that involves design, new product development, operation of robotics and intelligent manufacturing.
- It is an interdisciplinary branch with a combination of various engineering branches such as Electrical, Electronics, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.
- This unique programme was started to prepare quality automation engineers for various automation industries like manufacturing, defense, aerospace, medicine and also for Government sectors.
- Around 150 Alumni members are working in top MNCs across globe.

The graduates of Mechanical and Automation Engineering program will:

- Centre for Thought To Product Development is an University, Industry-academia collaboration program to align engineering student competencies with industrial needs
- Centre enhances the Engineering attributes of the Engineering graduates through Project based learning. The initiative was aimed at deepening the industry-academia bonds and building a strong foundation for the future needs of both academia and the growing embedded industry
- Various training programs are conducted for members of faculty and students in Centre for Thought to Product Development (cenT2P) and among ten projects were completed through this centre by batch of students from various disciplines.
